Arsenal’s highest paid player Mesut Ozil’s move away from Arsenal now closer than ever, according to the Mirror

The simple equation of receiving £350,000-a-week wages and not playing a single minute for the club all season is a fairly simple one for Arsenal when it comes to Mesut Ozil – they need to do all they can to move the player on.

That task is easier said than done though, with Ozil’s huge wage demands just not realistic given the huge drop in form and the current pandemic football clubs around the world are facing.

Arteta has not included Ozil for quite some time.

However, Ozil looks set to complete a move to Turkish giants Fenerbache in the January window with the DHA reporting a private plane could be getting him across to the continent.

Amazingly, Ozil has not featured in any football since before the first lockdown in March and at only 30-years-old still has an opportunity to get his playing career back on track.

It’s been a sad ending for the former Germany international, who at one time was adored by all Arsenal fans and was the club’s best performer by some distance.
