Sunday’s win over Everton was not enough to salvage a season to forget for Arsenal. Thanks to Liverpool’s win over already relegated Middlesbrough the Gunners have been consigned to Europa League football next season, for the first time in Arsene Wenger’s 21 year reign.

There has been little success in Europe’s blue ribbon competition for the north Londoners in recent years, having been stopped at the round of 16 stage for the last seven successive seasons, however, there were at least in the competition.

Having lost their seat at the top table, Arsenal could also be set to lose a permanent fixture of their Champions League campaigns, goalkeeper David Ospina.

The second-choice shot-stopper has, according to reports from The Mirror, become frustrated with his lack of opportunities and is now in talks with Fenerbahce over a £5m switch this summer.

The report claims that the club have been down this line before, with the powers that be at The Emirates having blocked the move in the past, however, it now appears they are happy to let it go ahead.
