Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has lined up Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann and Borussia Dortmund stalwart Marco Reus as replacements for either Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil, according to Squawka.

The saga surrounding the 28-year-old’s deals continues to rumble on, with the Gunners reportedly more confident that German playmaker, Mesut Ozil, will pen a new contract than they are over the situation concerning star forward Alexis Sanchez’s extension.

The duo continue to fight for parity with the Premier League’s top earners, with the wages of the likes of Paul Pogba at Man United well exceeding their own.

However, should one of the pair, or neither, sign an extension at The Emirates – both have 18 months left on their current deals – manager Arsene Wenger is prepared to splash the cash on the star forwards.

Griezmann, who is reportedly a top target for Man United next summer, has a monumental release clause of £85.5m in his current deal at the Vicente Calderon, whilst Germany international Marco Reus, who was also linked with an Old Trafford move last year, has been rated at £60m.
