AS Monaco are looking to secure the signature of out-of-favour Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, according to RMC Radio Station.

Monaco are struggling in Ligue 1 after selling many top quality players over the past few seasons, including 2018 FIFA World Cup winners Thomas Lemar and Kylian Mbappé.

The French club are now looking to rebuild their squad as they look to push away from the relegation zone.

Fellaini is reportedly unsettled at United, making just two substitute appearances for the Red Devils under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, accumulating to just 31 minutes on the field.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær has yet to start Fellaini.

The 31-year-old is currently out with a calf injury, leaving him sidelined for up to four weeks.

If the Belgium international chooses to remain at Old Trafford then he may struggle further for game time, with Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera both flourishing in the new-and-improved attacking style of play.

Monaco manager Thierry Henry spent the summer working closely with the former Everton midfielder, as the Arsenal legend is the Belgium assistant manager.

Fellaini was a key starter in the third-placed finishing side, which could persuade the tough-tackling centre-midfielder to make the switch to France, where he will line-up alongside fellow new signings Cesc Fabregas and Naldo.
