England international Ashley Young has reportedly asked Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho if he can go out on loan, according to the Daily Mail.

The 31-year-old, who has 30 international caps for the Three Lions, but has not featured for England since September 2013 versus Ukraine, has failed to score or provide an assist in nine appearances in all competitions for The Red Devils so far this season.

Young, who arrived at Old Trafford back in June 2011 following his switch from Championship outfit Aston Villa, has not featured for Mourinho’s men in the English top-flight since November 6, 2016, against Swansea City.

The report suggests the winger is desperate to play more first-team action, despite the ‘Special One’ wanting to keep hold of the midfielder’s services for his side’s Europa League and FA Cup campaigns this term.

As well as Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng, Premier League rivals West Ham United, West Brom, Watford, Crystal Palace and Swansea are also said to be interested in Young’s signature.

Young has scored 14 goals in 151 games for United overall.
