Aston Villa have completed the signing of Scotland international striker Ross McCormack for £12m.

The Championship outfit, who suffered relegation from the Premier League last term, have secured the services of the Fulham forward on a four-year contract.

The 29-year-old, who has 13 international caps for his country, scored 42 goals and provided 22 assists in 100 appearances for the Cottagers after arriving from Leeds United back in July 2014 for a reported £11m.

McCormack, who was also linked with a move to fellow Championship rivals Norwich City this summer, becomes Villa’s second-ever most expensive player – only behind club-record addition Darren Bent – who cost £18m from Sunderland back in 2011.

Villans boss Roberto Di Matteo told the club’s official website, “I’m delighted to bring Ross on board.

“He’s a player with proven track record and plenty of experience in the division.

“He is a player whose goalscoring record has been excellent everywhere he has been and we feel he can be an important addition.”
