Aston Villa eye bargain £3m deal for Ligue 1’s 27-goal striker

Aston Villa have reportedly been linked with a January move for Guadeloupe international striker Claudio Beauvue.

The Premier League side, who currently sit rock-bottom of the standings and already 11 points adrift of safety, are hoping to persuade the Lyon forward to Villa Park this month.

The 27-year-old, who is transfer listed by the Ligue 1 outfit, has still netted seven goals in 27 appearances in all competitions for Lyon this season.

However it is Beauvue’s tally of 27 goals in all competitions during the 2014-15 campaign that has Villa boss and former Lyon manager Remi Garde convinced that he can become a Premier League hit this term.

The French club value their out-of-favour striker at around £3m.
