Aston Villa are reportedly considering a bid to sign Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj.

The Croatia international has made an impressive start to the season for the Serie A outfit, and the club are currently top of the standings for the first time in 16 years after winning five of their opening six fixtures.

Despite making a number of summer signings, Villa boss Tim Sherwood is keen to further strengthen his young squad in January, and sees the 26-year-old as the ideal man to bring some experience to the team.

Badelj has made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Viola following a €5m move from Hamburg in 2014, scoring one goal.
