Aston Villa linked to Bruce deal

Aston Villa are favourites to sign Alex Bruce.

According to Ladbrokes News Villa are 6/4 favourites to sign the Hull defender who discovered that he was being released via twitter despite making almost 100 appearances for the club that he joined in 2012 from Huddersfield.

Bruce has played under his dad twice before with Villa looking to bring in tried and tested performers for next season’s promotion push.

Strengthening up the defence is one of Bruce’s priority with Chris Samba training with the club since the turn of the year.

Bruce Jnr spent the season just finished on loan at Wigan but only made two appearances as they were relegated from the Championship.

Villa are likely to offer the defender training facilities in pre-season, if the 24-year-old shows up well it’s likely that he’ll be offered a short term deal to help his dad as he embarks on another promotion push from the Championship.
