Name: Micah Richards
It’s been a shocking season for Aston Villa so, of course, picking their BRIT Award winner for 2016 is an almost impossible decision.
However, we had to pick one, and we have opted for the club skipper, Micah Richards.
The former Manchester City defender certainly wears his heart on his sleeve, as well as the captain’s armband, and has been determined to help turn the club’s fortunes around.
However, with the Villans eight points from safety with 12 games to go, and on the back of an embarrassing 6-0 home defeat by Liverpool, it seems inevitable that they will be a Championship team next term.
Whether Richards will still be at Villa Park next season is another question altogether, but the 27-year-old is a character that certainly won’t want to go down without a fight, and you can expect to see some that of passion over the next couple of months.
