Aston Villa are reportedly exploring the possibility of trying to sign Queens Park Ranger striker Charlie Austin.
The rock bottom Premier League outfit, who appointed Remi Garde as their new manager earlier this month, have identified the Championship star as their ideal January transfer target.
The 26-year-old, who was called up to the England senior squad back in May, has scored six goals in 12 league appearances for the R’s so far this season.
However it is Austin’s form in the English top-flight last term that caught the eye of a number of big clubs during the summer transfer window after he scored an impressive 18 league goals for relegated QPR.
Running into his last year of his current contract at Loftus Road, Austin is said to be available for around £8m in January.
