The Championship season was as unpredictable and as enthralling as ever.
Bournemouth were surprise title winners after snatching the trophy from fellow promoted side Watford on the final day, whilst Norwich bounced back at the first attempt by beating Middlesbrough in the play-off final at Wembley.
Now the dust has settled, we pick our Player, Manager and Goal of the season……
Player of the Season: Matt Ritchie (Bournemouth)
An ever-present in the Bournemouth side, Ritchie was a class act on the right side in an exciting Cherries side. Scored 15 times, claimed a whopping 17 assists and created 98 chances. Will now be relishing testing himself against the best in the top flight.
Manager of the Season: Eddie Howe (Bournemouth)
Eddie Howe and Bournemouth just go together like Ant & Dec. After an uninspiring spell at Burnley, the young boss returned to the Cherries in 2012. He’s already guided the club from near death to promotion from League Two and then followed that up with promotion from League One and the Championship title. With momentum and close group of talented players behind him, don’t bet against them surprising a few of the big boys.
Goal of the Season: Russell Martin (Norwich City)
The Canaries skipper doesn’t score too many but this one against Brighton was an absolute screamer. Just watch and enjoy.
