Manager of the Month: Paul Clement (Derby County)

After spending £20m in the summer transfer window, going seven games without a victory – one match being a cup exit defeat to League Two Portsmouth – wasn’t quite in the script for Carlo Ancelotti’s former assistant manager, who while already being under intense pressure, was subjected to taunts of ‘Real Madrid’s tea boy’ on social media. But since beating Preston 2-1 in September, Derby are now unbeaten in nine and clocked up four wins and a draw in October, scoring 11 goals along the way. The highlight of their victories was an excellent 4-2 win over Wolves at the iPro Stadium.

Player of the Month: Alan Judge (Brentford)

Judge has impressed for the Bees

Having seen his first stint in the Championship end in disappointment with Blackburn Rovers, Alan Judge’s move to Brentford on loan last year seemed to invigorate the former Notts County man – and now his move to Griffin Park has been made permanent, he’s really turned on the style. October in particular was a rewarding month for the Irishman, as he clocked up three goals – two against Rotherham United in a 2-1 win and the second in a 3-0 win at Charlton Athletic – and a hugely impressive four assists as the Bees won four out of their five league fixtures last month.

Goal of the Month: Nick Blackman (Rotherham vs READING)
