Liverpool face more bad news after the departure of Sadio Mane as Mohamed Salah is now also expected to leave the club next summer.

Mane joined German champions Bayern Munich last week, and now Salah could also be on his way out of Anfield, according to The Mirror.

The report claims that Salah will leave Anfield as a free agent when his contract expires next summer, with months of negotiations between the player’s representatives and the club over the possibility of an extension proving unsuccessful.

Salah has been prolific since returning to English football in 2017, scoring 156 goals and providing 63 assists in 254 games for the Merseyside club.

It is also claimed that, while the Reds are still working hard to persuade Salah to sign an extension, the club’s owners are unwilling to break their current wage structure, meaning that a deal is unlikely to be agreed.

Salah has previously stated that he will definitely be a Liverpool player next season, although the report claims that a bid in the region of £60 million could be enough to persuade the Reds to sell Salah a year early.

Jurgen Klopp has already signed Darwin Nunez from Benfica after being left with a depleted frontline following the departures of both Mane and Divock Origi.

During Salah’s first season with Liverpool, the ex-Chelsea man broke the record for number of goals in a 38-game Premier League season with 32, eclipsing the previous record of 31 which was shared by Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo.
