Those in charge of Manchester United have several big decisions to make this summer, most notably on the future of Jadon Sancho.

The winger spent the second half of last season on loan at German side Borussia Dortmund, following a very public fall out with United manager Erik ten Hag.

Despite impressing in Germany, the England international now faces an extremely uncertain future, especially as Ten Hag is now set to stay put in his role after guiding his side to the FA Cup.

Now, it appears that one of Europe’s biggest clubs could offer Sancho a lifeline.

According to Spanish outlet Sport via 90min, La Liga giants Barcelona could look to sign the winger on a season-long loan deal.

Sancho faces an extremely uncertain future at Old Trafford

The report claims that the Englishman was offered to Barcelona earlier this year, but the Spanish side were not interested in pursuing a move at the time.

Now, though, they could revisit a potential loan swoop with United struggling to offload the player.

Sancho, 24, joined the Red Devils from Dortmund in 2021, having scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists for the German side.

He failed to recreate that form in Manchester, though, and was eventually ousted from Ten Hag’s squad after criticising the Dutchman on social media.

Despite a relatively successful second stint in Germany, the loan deal didn’t include an option-to-buy clause, and Sancho’s future is therefore very much up in the air at present.

While current Barca boss Hansi Flick is said to be an admirer of Sancho, the report also claims that those in charge of the club prefer the idea of signing other targets such as Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams or Liverpool star Luis Diaz.
