England international defender Kyle Walker is reportedly a transfer target for FC Barcelona, according to the Evening Standard.

The La Liga giants, who trail rivals Real Madrid by one point at the top of the Spanish top-flight standings, have been linked with a summer swoop for the Tottenham full-back.

The 26-year-old, who has 23 international caps for the Three Lions, has provided six assists in 28 appearances in all competitions for Spurs so far this season.

Walker, who arrived at White Hart Lane back in July 2009 following his move from League One outfit Sheffield United, has been targeted by Barcelona to solve their right-back issue next term.

The European giants have failed to properly replace former defender Dani Alves, who left for Serie A champions Juventus last summer, although they have identified the Tottenham star as a possible long-term solution.

However Walker only put pen to paper on a new five-year contract, worth £70,000 a week, last year.
