Manchester City boosted their Premier League title chances with a 3-1 win over Leicester City on Saturday.

John Stones and Erling Haaland were both on the scoresheet as Pep Guardiola’s side cruised to a comfortable victory over The Foxes at The Etihad.

The win meant that the Citizens closed the gap between them and league leaders Arsenal to four points, with City having a game-in-hand over the north London outfit.

Manchester City now look increasingly likely to leapfrog Arsenal, with the two sides playing each other on April 26th.

Despite Manchester City’s title charge and impressive Champions League campaign so far, The Citizens could lose a key midfielder this summer.

The Times reports that Barcelona are growing increasingly confident of signing Manchester City midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan, on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and may be on his way out of the Etihad in the summer.

Ilkay Gundogan looks increasingly likely to leave Manchester City when his contract expires at the end of the season

The German has played a key role in City’s midfield since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2016.

Gundogan has made 183 Premier League appearances for Manchester City so far and has scored 40 goals for the club.

The midfielder has impressed so far this season, making 39 appearances across all competitions.

Since arriving in Manchester, the German has helped his side to win four Premier League titles, four Carabao Cups and one FA Cup.

Barcelona believe his vast experience and exceptional ability can bring a lot to their midfield and can help develop some of the club’s young talents.

The Spanish side have experienced well-documented financial problems in recent seasons and the opportunity to sign Gundogan on a free transfer will therefore appeal to those in charge of the club.

The German has several admirers at Barcelona and the La Liga side will work hard to lure the player away from Manchester City, although Gundogan will undoubtedly consider all options available to him before making a decision on his future.
