Chelsea return from the international break with momentum and confidence in abundance.

Their opening victories against Crystal Palace and Arsenal, were followed up with an incredible 1-1 draw away to Liverpool, while reduced to 10 men.

While the stalemate may have yielded less points and less goals, it was a real statement of the Blues quality, resilience, and strategic prowess.

The Blues were also further bolstered with the loan signing of Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid.

He was Thomas Tuchel’s side’s second acquisition of the summer, along with the £98m arrival of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.

However, reports from the Daily Express has suggested German giants Bayern Munich could be interested in Lukaku’s fellow striker Timo Werner.

Werner is yet to score or create a goal for Chelsea this season

The speedy striker has divided critics since his £53m arrival from RB Leipzig last season.

While his work rate, pace, and ability to stretch defences is unquestionable, his poor finishing statistics have cast a black cloud over his time at Stamford Bridge.

But Bayern Munich may be willing to take a chance on him.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side are expected to soon lose Robert Lewandowski, who announced his desire to depart and look for a new challenge.

This would likely mean the Bavarians will need another centre-forward, and Nagelsmann may be willing to take a chance on the striker who hammered home 34 goals in 45 matches under him at Leipzig.

Werner is yet to find the net for Chelsea this season, but he did score three goals in three matches for Germany during the international break.
