Chelsea are likely to be one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs during the upcoming summer transfer window, which officially opens on Friday.

The Blues have already confirmed the signing of central defender Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from West London rivals Fulham, but new manager Enzo Maresca will almost certainly be keen to make further additions to his squad ahead of next season.

Chelsea are also likely to have to sell players in order to adhere to the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, though, and it appears that one of their most promising young players has attracted interest from one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

According to The Mail, German giants Bayern Munich are interested in Blues centre-back Levi Colwill.

The 21-year-old defender is a product of Chelsea’s successful youth academy and made his senior debut for the club at the start of last season, having previously impressed on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Colwill enjoyed an impressive first season in the Chelsea first team setup

He made 32 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side across all competitions last season, but missed the last two months of the campaign due to injury.

The central defender, who can also play at left-back, was handed his senior England debut by Gareth Southgate in October last year, during a friendly win over Australia.

The report claims that new Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is keen to bolster his defence after Bayern failed to win the Bundesliga title last term, and Colwill has emerged as one of his potential targets.

Despite Colwill being aware of interest from the German side, the report claims that Chelsea are reluctant to sell the player.

Colwill’s current contract with the Blues is set to run until the end of the 2028/29 campaign.

As well as the Englishman, Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah is also said to be of interest to Bayern as they look to add to their defensive options.
