Chelsea will face AFC Wimbledon in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side picked up their first win of the new Premier League campaign with a 3-0 win over Luton Town at Stamford Bridge on Friday evening.

England international Raheem Sterling was in fine form for the Blues, scoring twice before turning provider to help new signing Nicolas Jackson to get on the scoresheet for the first time at his new club.

Whilst Chelsea remain focused on improving their performances under Pochettino, the London club continue to be busy in the transfer market.

The Blues have recently beaten rivals Liverpool to the signings of both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, with the pair joining from Brighton and Hove Albion and Southampton respectively.

Despite working hard to bring in players this summer, those in charge of the club have also been working to trim the bloated squad that Pochettino inherited.

The West Londoners have sold the likes of Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Edouard Mendy, Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly and Christian Pulisic this summer.

Despite this, it now appears that Chelsea could be in talks to offload another squad member before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.

According to Sky Sports, Bayern Munich have made initial contact with Chelsea over the signing of Trevoh Chalobah.

Tevoh Chlaobah has emerged as a top target for Bayern Munich, with defender Benjamin Pavard likely to leave the German club

The report claims that the Bavarian side see the defender as a potential replacement for Benjamin Pavard, who looks set to depart the club.

Chalobah, 24, has risen through the youth ranks at Chelsea and has racked up 63 senior appearances for the West London outfit since making his senior debut in 2018.

In those 63 appearances, the defender has scored four goals and contributed one assist.

However, it seems that the England youth international has fallen down the pecking order since Pochettino’s arrival, with the former Ipswich Town loanee yet to make an appearance so far this season.

Therefore, a move away from Stamford Bridge could allow the player the opportunity to ensure more regular game time.

The German giants have made Chalobah one of their main targets after Inter Milan agreed to a deal to sign their defender, Pavard.

Chalobah is contracted to the West London outfit until 2028, with an option to extend his deal by a year.

However, the defender could be reunited with former manager Thomas Tuchel if Pavard decides to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

The German handed Chaobah his first proper opportunity in the first team setup during his spell in charge of the club, and it appears that the former Paris Saint-Germain manager is keen on a reunion.
