Besiktas are the latest club to be linked with a move for Aleksandar Mitrovic.

According to a report in The Chronicle the Turkish side are planning face to face discussions to sign the Newcastle striker.

Mitrovic only started 11 matches in the Championship and is unlikely to have a more prominent role next season with more new faces planned at St James’ Park.

Newcastle paid Anderlecht £15m for the Serbian in the summer of 2015 but he made little impression as the season ended with relegation.

Rafa Benitez has been linked with a number of strikers which could be financed by the sale of Mitrovic.

Fenerbahce have also been linked with the striker with Newcastle likely to prefer a permanent deal to sending the 23-year-old out on loan.

After failing to make the impact that he had hoped for it’s believed that Mitrovic is interested to move on and try out a new club.
