Besiktas are looking to cancel goalkeeper Loris Karius’ loan deal and send him back to Liverpool, according to reports.

The 26-year-old penned a two-year loan agreement with the Turkish side in the summer of 2018 and has played 46 matches in all competitions.

However, Turkish publication Takvim claim that the Super Lig outfit have lost patience in Karius, who has been underperforming between the sticks.

It’s claimed that they want to terminate his loan in the next transfer window, meaning he would have to return to Merseyside.

Despite being first-choice, Karius has failed to impress those at Besiktas.

Besiktas are already thought to be looking at goalkeeping targets which could come in and replace Karius.

The ex-Mainz stopper hasn’t played for Liverpool since making two high-profile mistakes in the Reds’ 2018 Champions League final defeat against Real Madrid in Kiev.

If he does go back to Anfield, the German would most likely have to find another club or settle to be third choice behind Alisson Becker and Adrian.

Karius has played 49 matches for Liverpool since signing for the club back in May 2016.
