West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has admitted France international star Dimitri Payet “does not want to play for us”.
Speaking ahead of the Hammers’ Premier League fixture at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday, the Croatian said, “We have said we don’t want to sell our best players but Dimitri Payet does not want to play for us. We are not going to sell him.
“I spoke to the Chairman and this is not a money issue. We gave him a long contract because we want him to stay.”
Payet, 29, who has 32 international caps for his country and helped France reach the final of Euro 2016 last summer, has scored three goals and provided eight assists in 22 appearances in all competitions for Bilic’s side so far this season.
The Frenchman joined West Ham back in June 2015 following his reported £10.7m switch from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille, going onto score an impressive 15 times in his debut campaign.
