Birmingham City are reportedly considering a shock move for Aston Villa striker Libor Kozak.

The Championship outfit, who currently sit sixth in the standings despite Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic, are interested in taking the forward on loan from their arch-rivals before Thursday’s loan window deadline.

The 26-year-old, who has seven international caps for the Czech Republic, has failed to make a single English top-flight appearance for the Villans so far this season, playing just 48 minutes of first-team football during their 5-3 League Cup victory over Notts County back in August.

With Kozak unable to work his way into new boss Remi Garde’s matchday plans; it is thought that the Czech international is willing to seal a temporary move away from Villa Park in a bid to rebuild his career, with Gary Rowett’s Blues determined to benefit after learning fellow striker Clayton Donaldson has been ruled out for the next six weeks with a groin injury.
