The last few weeks of the season always comes with the added excitement of it reveals, with most clubs unveiling their kits for the following season in the final month of the season, and many opting to don it for the final few games.

With many of this Premier League season’s permutations already decided with two game weeks remaining, fans have been looking for something to excite them and the annual kit reveal promises exactly that.

Chelsea are one of the few clubs to have already revealed next season’s shirt this season, and fans will get their first glimpse of the controversial new shirt when the Blues face Leicester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

As fans flocked to pre-order the new strip, a glaring error was noticed on the club’s official website, and fans are speculating that it has all but confirmed a summer transfer.

Some fans believe Mendy could be plying his trade at Stamford bridge next season.

Among the list of names available for print on the official site, Manchester City’s Benjamin Mendy was present, much to the bemusement of Blues fans and rival supporters alike.

Despite wrapping up a third Premier League title earlier this week, a combination of injury and poor form have meant that Mendy has once again struggled for regular game time this season.

The French full-back is usually snubbed when City play a back four, and often sees his opportunities limited to the left wing-back role on the rare occasion that City play a back five.

The defender’s injury problems have fuelled speculation that he will depart the Etihad this summer, with Joao Cancelo and Oleksander Zinchenko both seemingly above him in the pecking order.

His listing on the Chelsea site, however, has prompted speculation that a deal to take him to West London has already been agreed in secret.

Chelsea signed Ben Chilwell from Leicester last summer, but Emerson and Marcos Alonso could both depart Stamford Bridge this summer and another left-back option could therefore be of use to Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.

With both clubs yet to comment on the matter, speculation linking Mendy with a move to Chelsea will likely continue.
