Liverpool will hope to preserve their lead at the top of the Premier League table when they host Chelsea on Sunday.

The Reds currently boast a one-point lead over reigning champions Manchester City and North Londoners Arsenal, but the Blues have started the season strongly and will pose a tough test for Arne Slot’s side.

The Dutchman has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Anfield, but he could face a number of potential off-field headaches in the coming months, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah all in the final year of their contracts.

Now, it appears that one of Alexander-Arnold’s international teammates is trying to persuade him to leave Anfield.

According to GiveMeSport,  Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has spoken to the full-back about life in the Spanish capital.

Bellingham joined Real from German side Borussia Dortmund last summer and won both the Champions League and La Liga title in his debut season in Spain.

Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold are international teammates for England

Alexander-Arnold, 26, has just months remaining on his current deal with the Reds and Real Madrid are believed to be considering a move for the Englishman.

The Spanish side’s need for reinforcements at right-back stems primarily from a long-term injury suffered by Dani Carvajal, who is expected to miss the remainder of the current campaign.

Despite interest from Spain and the player himself pondering a move away, the report does also claims that Liverpool have not yet given up hope of agreeing an extension to the full-back’s current contract.

Alexander-Arnold has played more than 300 times for the Merseyside outfit since graduating from their youth academy, providing an impressive tally of 83 assists.

It is claimed that the Liverpool star has been ‘inquisitive’ about life in Madrid, with Bellingham explaining how seamlessly he transitioned into the Real squad following his move from Germany.
