Chelsea will be hoping to record a third consecutive victory when they face Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The Blues have endured a difficult start to the new season, but have beaten Brighton and Hove Albion and then Fulham in the past week, in the Carabao Cup and Premier League respectively.

Next up for Pochettino’s side is a trip to Turf Moor to face a Burnley side that recorded their first Premier League victory when facing Luton Town on Tuesday.

In the meantime, Chelsea appear to have been handed a boost in their pursuit of a Premier League forward.

According to Football Insider, Brentford striker Ivan Toney is keen to leave the club in January.

The England international, who is said to be a target for both the Blues and Tottenham Hotspur, is reportedly of the opinion that it is the right time to leave the Bees.

Toney could leave Brentford during the upcoming January transfer window

Toney, 27, joined Brentford from Football League side Peterborough United in 2020 and has since made 124 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 68 goals and providing 21 assists.

Having played a pivotal role in helping Thomas Frank’s side achieve promotion from the Championship, Toney has since scored 32 goals in 68 Premier League games, as well as registering nine assists.

The forward hasn’t played since May last year, though, due to a suspension after being found guilty of breaching FA betting regulations.

Toney was able to return to training last month and can play from January onwards, although it remains to be seen which team that will be for.

It is also claimed that Brentford value the player at around £100 million despite his current contract running out in 2025.

That has left those in charge of the Bees with a difficult decision to make, and it remains to be seen whether or not they will allow the player to leave in January.
