Chelsea produced yet another fine display to earn a 4-4 draw against Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday.

Having beaten rivals Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 on Monday night and started brightly against the Citizens at Stamford Bridge.

Despite their positive start, the visitors went ahead early on after Erling Haaland won and converted a penalty.

Chelsea hit back, though, through Thiago Silva and then took the lead courtesy of former City man Raheem Sterling, who tapped in a Reece James cross from close range.

There was more first-half drama to come, though, with defender Manuel Akanji drawing the Citizens level moments before the break.

After half-time, Haaland netted his second of the game to put City ahead once again, before Nicolas Jackson scored to put the score at 3-3.

Midfielder Rodri then looked likely to have won the game for the league leaders with his long-range deflected effort, before ex-City starlet Cole Palmer converted a penalty deep into added time to earn the Blues a point.

James was named Chelsea captain before the start of the current season

Now, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino appears to have been handed another huge boost.

As per 90min, defender Reece James remains ‘fully committed’ to the West London outfit despite being linked with a move away from the club.

The full-back, who was made club captain over the summer, has reportedly attracted interest from clubs including Real Madrid, but he is said to be happy at Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old signed a new contract with Chelsea last year, which is set to run until 2028.

As well as Real Madrid, James has also attracted interest from Man City, the report claims.

James is a product of Chelsea’s youth academy and has made more than 150 appearances for his boyhood club across all competitions.
