Chelsea’s dismal start to the new Premier League season continued on Sunday as they were held to a goalless draw by struggling Bournemouth.

The Blues dominated possession on the south coast but were unable to find a goal, failing to score for the second successive match.

New manager Mauricio Pochettino was once again left frustrated at his side’s performance, and next up the Blues face high-flying Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

In the meantime, it appears that the West London outfit have been handed a huge boost.

According to 90min, captain Reece James is committed to Chelsea despite interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The report claims that the full-back has become the subject of interest from clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Despite this, it is claimed that the Englishman is happy in the capital and is intent on remaining with his boyhood club.

James hasn’t featured for Chelsea since their draw against Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season

James, 23, is a product of Chelsea’s youth academy and was named as the club’s new captain at the start of this season, having established himself in the first team over the past few seasons.

In total the England international has made 148 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, but he has struggled with injuries throughout his senior career and is currently sidelined.

James has missed more than 80 matches due to injury since 2019, but he has also provided 20 assists and scored 11 times for the Blues.

The defender is currently contracted to Chelsea until the summer of 2028 having signed a new deal last year, and Pochettino will be hoping that he can remain fit once he returns and play a crucial role for his side.

The report claims that James has no interest in leaving Stamford Bridge despite Chelsea’s woeful form over the past 12 months.
