Arsenal will have to stump up over £50m if they wish to sign Gabon international superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to BBC Sport.

The Premier League side, who eased past Crystal Palace 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, have been heavily linked with luring the Borussia Dortmund star striker to North London before the close of the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old, who has 56 international caps for his country, has scored 21 goals and provided three assists in 23 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season.

Aubameyang, who joined the German outfit from AS Saint-Etienne back in July 2013, has netted a remarkable 141 times in 212 games overall for Dortmund.

The report suggests both clubs are in talks over a transfer for the Gabonese forward, expected to be over £50m, which would surpass The Gunners’ £46.5m club-record signing of fellow striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon in the summer.

Manager Arsene Wenger has brought in one January signing so far, defender Konstantinos Mavropanos from PAS Giannina.
