Bournemouth and Sunderland are set to go head-to-head in a bid to sign England Under-19 international Patrick Roberts, according to TEAMTalk.com.

The Premier League duo, who sit 16th and 19th in the league standings respectively, want to take the Manchester City youngster on loan for the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign.

The 18-year-old, who cost the Citizens a reported £12m from Fulham last summer, has featured in three first-team games for Manuel Pellegrini’s side this season.

Roberts, who has assisted three goals and scored once in the UEFA Youth League this term, made his Man City debut in the 4-1 League Cup victory over Sunderland back in September.
