AFC Bournemouth are reportedly interested in taking goalkeeper Vito Mannone from Sunderland next month.

The newly promoted Premier League side are thought to be plotting a move for the out-of-favour shot stopper as the Cherries look to bolster their squad in the forthcoming January transfer window.

The 27-year-old, who is a former Italy Under-21 international, has made just one first-team appearance for the Black Cats this season – the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City in the League Cup.

With Bournemouth ‘keepers Artur Boruc and Adam Federici making high-profile errors in previous weeks; it is thought boss Eddie Howe is considering a move for a new man between the sticks, with the Sunderland misfit high on his wish list.
