Tottenham Hotspur will begin the 2026/27 Premier League season with a trip across London to face Brentford.

The Lilywhites have finished 17th in the top flight in each of the past two seasons, and only avoided relegation to the Championship on the final day of last term.

Roberto De Zerbi became Spurs’ third manager of the season when he was appointed in late March, following the departures first of Thomas Frank, and then his successor Igor Tudor.

Having narrowly avoided the drop last term, De Zerbi and those in charge of the north London outfit will be desperate to see significant improvement this time around.

Tottenham are therefore likely to be busy in the transfer market this summer, however it has also emerged that they have agreed to sell one of their most talented youngsters.

As per The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Tottenham have agreed a deal to sell defender Luka Vuskovic to Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.

The report claims that the London side have agreed a deal with the Seagulls worth an initial £46 million, plus a further £4 million in add-ons.

It is also claimed that the Spurs will hold a 20% sell-on clause in the deal, and will also have the right to match any future offers for the  Croat.

Vuskovic, 19, is currently on international duty with Croatia at the World Cup in North America, but Ornstein claims that he will undergo a medical after the tournament ends.

The teenager joined Tottenham from Croatian side Hajduk Split in the summer of 2025 but is yet to make a senior appearance for the club, having been sent straight on loan to Bundesliga outfit Hamburg.

During his season-long spell in Germany, the centre-back made 30 appearances across all competitions and scored six goals, impressing hugely for Hamburg, who had paid less than £1 million as a loan fee.
