Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic cruised to the Scottish Premiership title and need seven points from their final three games to break the all time points record, set by the club back in 2002.

The Bhoys have been totally dominant in Scotland’s top tier this term, winning the title with eight games of the season still to go, and dropping just eight points from their 35 games thus far.

However, one man who hasn’t featured much under the former Liverpool manager this season is Efe Ambrose, and recent reports from Nigeria (via Sport Witness) suggest that his five-year stint at Celtic Park could be coming to an end this summer.

And that’s because newly-promoted Brighton are thought to be interested in the 28-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Hibernian, playing 12 times for Neil Lennon’s side.

It has been reported that the Seagulls, who ended their 34-year wait for a return to England’s top tier this season, were offered Ambrose last week, although the South Coast outfit are yet to have made a decision but are believed to be considering such option.

Manager Chris Hughton will already be thinking about how he can improve his squad for their Premier League campaign next season, and there’s little doubt that Ambrose, who made just two appearances for Celtic this term, would bolster their defensive options.

However, French outfit Nice are also reported to have shown an interest in the defender, and with his contract up at the end of the current season, Brighton may need to act fast to bring their man to the AMEX Stadium this summer.
