Promoted Brighton are eyeing up a loan move for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham in the summer, according to The Sun.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable season on loan at Championship outfit Bristol City, where he has netted 23 goals in just 40 league appearances to help Lee Johnson’s side avoid the drop with one game to spare.

And with the likes of Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi on the books at Stamford Bridge, as well as the potential for more signings to come this summer, it’s highly unlikely that the England Under-21 star will get much a chance to feature under Antonio Conte next term.

And, as a result, Seagulls boss Chris Hughton is reportedly hoping to secure a deal for the 19-year-old sensation this summer to bolster his own attacking options ahead of Brighton’s first top-flight campaign for 34 years.

Hughton’s men sealed promotion on Easter Monday after beating Wigan Athletic 2-1 at the AMEX Stadium, and although they missed out on securing the title last weekend (incidentally losing to Abraham’s Bristol City 1-0), they go to Aston Villa on Sunday hoping to get the three points needed to beat Newcastle to top spot.

However, it appears that attentions have already turned towards next season’s Premier League campaign, and with Abraham having had a prolific and stellar year in the Championship, Hughton clearly feels that he can do a job in the top-flight to help the Seagulls beat the drop next term.
