Brighton and Hove Albion have been linked with a move to re-sign Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt.

The Seagulls sold the former Chelsea player to the Black Cats in January 2014, but he is now on loan at Leeds United after finding first-team opportunities hard to come by at the Stadium of Light.

Although he’s currently at Elland Road until January, it is thought the Whites won’t be able to make it a permanent deal due to their off-field issues, meaning other clubs have the chance to snap up the one-time Scotland international.

Chris Hughton’s Championship leaders are still unbeaten after 19 matches but will be looking to strengthen in January as they aim to reach the Premier League for the first time.

Bridcutt spent four seasons with Albion, playing 152 times for the club and helping them to the League One title in 2011.
