Brighton strike deal for young defender

Brighton & Hive Albion have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Ilkeston defender Jordan Wheatley.

The 17-year-old centre-back joined the Northern Premier League club at the start of the 2014/15 season and helped the club capture titles at reserve and U-21 level.

This lead to a professional contract and promotion to the first-team, where since he has caught the eye of a number of professional clubs, with the high-flying Seagulls winning the race for his signature.
