Bristol City and Derby County line up surprise £5.5m move for Lyon striker

Bristol City and Derby County are reportedly considering making a surprise move to sign £5.5m-rated Lyon striker Claudio Beauvue, according to France Football.

The former are desperate to bring in a new attacker as they look to fend off a relegation battle, while the latter are looking to add to their firepower as they look to achieve promotion to the Premier League.

Lyon only signed the 27-year-old from Guingamp in the summer, but are now ready to sell the Frenchman, with the two Championship sides said to be ready to meet the €7m price tag.

Beauvue has scored five goals in 19 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit this term.
