Premier League outfit Burnley could launch a summer bid for Everton outcast Oumar Niasse, according to The Sunday Mirror.

The 27-year-old moved to Goodison Park back in 2016 for £13.5 million, but has managed just seven appearances for the Toffees since then, failing to net in any of them.

In fact, he was demoted to the Under-23 team at the start of the campaign by Everton chief Ronald Koeman, before moving on loan to Hull City in January, where he went on to net five times in 19 games for the Tigers.

And although he was unable to keep Marco Silva’s side in the Premier League, he earned rave reviews for his impressive displays, and has since attracted interest from Sean Dyche’s Burnley.

The Clarets will be playing top-flight football next season after securing a 16th place finish in the Premier League, winning 11 of their 38 matches to reach the 40-point mark, six clear of the bottom three.

Yet some of their prized assets have been attracting interest in recent times, with striker Andre Gray linked with a move away from Turf Moor, and it appears that manager Dyche is preparing for the departure of his star striker by lining up a move for £7.65 million-rated Niasse (as per Transfermarkt).

It may not have worked for him at Everton, but the Senegal international showed in the second half of this season what a decent forward he is, and one who could seriously bolster Burnley’s attacking ranks ahead of the new campaign.
