The newly-promoted sides meet at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon when Burnley host Hull City, as the Premier League resumes.

Sean Dyche’s Clarets have gained three-points from their opening three games in the top-tier of English football, with their only triumph coming in a 2-0 win at home to Liverpool back in August.

Last time out, the east Lancashire outfit succumbed to a 3-0 defeat away at Chelsea, before the international break.

Goals in the first-half from Eden Hazard and Willian put the Blues two to the good in the capital, before Victor Moses netted a third in the dying embers at Stamford Bridge, to leave Burnley residing in 13th position in the standings.

Their opponents at the weekend, Hull City have enjoyed a positive start to life back in the Premier League, despite a turbulent summer.

Mike Phelan will take temporary charge at Turf Moor, having overseen two wins from their opening three encounters, but like Burnley, the Tigers head into the contest after they lost their last game at home to Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford’s injury-time winner at the KCOM Stadium brought an end to City’s unbeaten record under Phelan, who replaced Steve Bruce following the latter’s resignation, though remains favourite for the full-time position on Humberside.

Sam Vokes’ goal for Burnley proved decisive in the last meeting in the Championship at Turf Moor back in February, with the hosts recording a vital three points in their successful title pursuit.

Team News:

Burnley could hand debuts to loan striker Patrick Bamford, and £10m club-record recruit Jeff Hendrick, for the visit of Hull.

Striker Ashley Barnes remains on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, while fellow forward Andre Gray is available from the outset.

Hull’s trio of signings towards the end of the transfer window lifted the uncertainty that had surrounded the club. Phelan is likely to field goalkeeper David Marshall, along with Ryan Mason and Will Keane, providing them with their first outings as City players.

Allan McGregor, Alex Bruce, Michael Dawson and Moses Odubajo are long-term injury casualties for Hull, and will not feature for some time, having sustained their issues in pre-season.
