Career in pictures – Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler

Winning the Treble (2001)

Injury kept Fowler out for much of the 1997/98 season and had a few frustrating years at Anfield prior to the 2000/01 campaign.

But this one was a great one, as the 42-year-old helped Liverpool secure the treble by winning the FA Cup, League Cup, and UEFA Cup, netting 17 goals in all competitions.

His six goals in five matches helped him win a second League Cup title, beating Birmingham City in the final at Wembley; he netted in their FA Cup semi-final victory over Wycombe a few months later; and then the fourth in their thrilling 5-4 win over Alaves in the UEFA Cup final.

Here, the striker can be seen netting in that UEFA Cup triumph back in May 2001.
