Premier League and Champions League double 2008

Manchester United restored their place at the top of the English game with a Premier League/Champions League double in 2008.

Ferdinand also helped the side to the league title in 2006/07, but victory over Chelsea in the Champions League final of 2008, in which Ferdinand captained the side, secured the defender his one and only European Cup winners medal.

A few injuries thwarted his next couple of seasons at Old Trafford, but he still played an important part in their 2010/11 title triumph, his penultimate at United.
