Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic have completely dominated the Scottish Premiership this season and are going in search of a record-breaking points tally.

The Bhoys secured the league title, their sixth in a row, back on April 2 courtesy of a 5-0 thrashing of Hearts, and they’ll know that seven points from their final three matches would see them break the previous record set by Martin O’Neill’s Celtic in the 2001/02 campaign, where they picked up 103 points.

Nonetheless, it also appears that they are turning their attentions to next season, with The Sun reporting that the Scottish giants are eyeing up a move to sign Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts once again.

The 20-year-old moved to the Etihad Stadium back in 2015 after impressing at Championship outfit Fulham, yet has made just three appearances for the Citizens since then, instead spending a decent amount of time on loan at Celtic Park.

And manager Rodgers is hoping to lure him north of the border once again next season, with the youngster having netted nine times in 43 games in an impressive spell for the Bhoys this term.

Celtic are reportedly open to paying £500,000 to take Roberts on loan again, but it is thought that City boss Pep Guardiola is hoping to take the 20-year-old on their pre-season tour of the United States, which could scupper Rodgers’ plans.

Nonetheless, it does seem unlikely that Roberts will break into the City first team next season, but whether Guardiola or indeed himself is willing to sanction another loan move to Celtic remains to be seen.
