Celtic fans react to Lucas Leiva links

Liverpool’s tenacious midfielder Lucas Leiva could be heading to Parkhead according to the latest reports as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen ahead of next season. 

Lucas has been more of a squad player at Anfield over the past few seasons but has a reputation for doing a good job whenever he’s brought into the side, which wasn’t always the case as at first he struggled with the rigours of English football.

When Liverpool began to struggle towards the end of Rafa Benitez’s reign Lucas was viewed by many as part of the reason for the team’s problems, being compared unfavourably to Javier Mascherano.

Since those early problems the midfielder has turned his Anfield career around and many fans will be sad to see him leave the club if the reports turn out to be true.

Despite Celtic’s domestic dominance Rodgers knows he needs to add to the squad if the club are to improve their performances in the Champions League next season after finishing bottom of their group last time round.
