Manchester United’s season went from bad to worse on Sunday as they were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham Hotspur.

James Maddison’s first-half strike earned the Lilywhites a crucial 1-0 win over the Red Devils, moving Ange Postecoglou’s side above United in the Premier League table.

United boss Ruben Amorim finds himself under increasing pressure at Old Trafford, having overseen just four wins from 14 Premier League matches in charge of the club since taking over in November.

The Portuguese is likely to want to bolster his squad when the transfer window reopens this summer, and it appears that one of United’s targets is keen on the idea of a move to Manchester.

According to Ben Jacobs via GiveMeSport, Sporting CP winger Geovany Quenda is keen to join Manchester United.

Quenda, 17, worked under Amorim during his time in the Portuguese capital, and the report claims that talks are already underway over a potential deal that would see the player reunite with the United boss in Manchester.

Quenda could be reunited with Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford this summer

Jacobs claims that United currently value the teenager at around £33 million, while his current employers are demanding a fee in the region of £50 million for the youngster.

The young winger is a product of Sporting’s youth academy and has played 38 times for the club at senior level across all competitions, scoring twice and providing seven assists.

He is contracted to the Lisbon giants until the summer of 2027, but United will attempt to prise him away this summer as Amorim looks to bolster his struggling squad.

It is claimed that the player himself is keen to join the Red Devils, with the Premier League side intent on agreeing a deal prior to the transfer window reopening in order to fend off potential interest from elsewhere.
