Middlesbrough missed the chance to go top of the Championship table after they were defeated 2-1 by Blackburn at Ewood Park.

Boro arrived at Ewood Park knowing victory would lift them back to the summit, but left Lancashire still in third place. Second half goals from Hope Akpan and, former Riverside striker, Danny Graham was enough to give Rovers all three points and lift them up to 16th.

Adam Forshaw’s injury-time strike was of little consolation as Aitor Karanka’s side remain a point behind leaders Burnley.
