Charlton set to wrap up Fanni signing

Charlton Athletic are reportedly on the verge of signing defender Rod Fanni from Al-Arabi SC, according to France Football.

The 34-year-old, who previously played for a number of French clubs, including Lens, Nice, Rennes and Marseille, is said to be in talks with the Addicks over a move to South London before the window closes on Monday night.

Jose Riga is keen to strengthen his team who sit one point from safety in the Championship table after picking up a 4-1 win against Rotherham at the weekend.

Fanni, who in previous years has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs including Everton and West Ham, also has five caps for France.
