Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool in Mauricio Pochettino’s first match in charge on Sunday.

The Reds went ahead at Stamford Bridge through Luis Diaz, who latched onto a superb through ball from Mohamed Salah to slide the visitors in front.

Debutant Axel Disasi then levelled things up before the break, and neither side was able to find a winner.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also been battling it out of the pitch in recent days, with both clubs looking to sign Brighton and Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo.

Now, though, it appears that the midfielder is on his way to Stamford Bridge.

As per Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have agreed a £115 million deal with the Seagulls for Caicedo.

The Blues are set to break the British transfer record to land the 21-year-old, just seven months after breaking the same record to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.

Caicedo is sett o join Chelsea for a British record transfer fee

Romano claims that the player’s medical has now been scheduled, and the player will sign a contract until 2031 which will also include the option of a further 12 months.

Brighton are also set to benefit from a sell-on percentage, meaning that the Seagulls will be entitled to a fixed percentage of any fee that Chelsea receive if they sell the Ecuador international.

Caicedo joined Brighton back in 2021 and spent six months on loan in Belgium before returning to the south coast last year.

He impressed during the latter half of the 2021/22 campaign, and made 43 appearances across all competitions last term.

The Ecuadorian wasn’t involved in Brighton’s 4-1 win over Luton Town on Saturday, though, amid speculation linking him with a move away from the club.

Chelsea have been keen to sign the player for some time now, but Liverpool made a shock £110 million offer for the player on Friday which prompted doubts over his proposed move to West London.

Despite the Reds’ offer, Caicedo is believed to have informed Liverpool that his intention was to join Chelsea and he is now on his way to the capital.
