Enzo Maresca will take charge of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for the first time on Sunday when his side face Inter Milan in a friendly.

The Blues have endured a disappointing pre-season campaign so far this summer, but the Italian will hope to see them improve in their final match before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

The West London side have once again been among the English top flight’s busiest clubs during the transfer window so far, signing no fewer than eight players including defender Aaron Anselmino on Thursday.

Now, though, it appears that the Blues have agreed yet another signing.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the London side have reached an agreement to sign goalkeeper Mike Penders from Belgian side Gent.

It is claimed that the deal for the 19-year-old could cost Chelsea up to £17 million in total, despite the player having made just two senior appearances.

Kepa is one of a number of goalkeepers facing uncertain futures at Chelsea at present

Romano claims that Pinters will remain with his current side on loan for the upcoming campaign, before potentially joining Chelsea next summer.

The teenager’s arrival casts further doubt over the long-term futures of some of Chelsea’s current ‘keepers, including Kepa Arrizabalaga and Robert Sanchez.

Since taking charge of the club two years ago, Chelsea’s American owners have adopted a policy of signing young players that have potential for the future.

The likes of Deivid Washington, Angelo an Andrey Santos have arrived over the past two seasons, while Caleb Wiley and Anselmino have joined the club this summer.

It is also claimed that those in charge of Chelsea’s recruitment see huge potential in Pinters, who kept a clean sheet in one of his two senior appearances for Genk so far.
