Chelsea will be back in action when they welcome west London rivals Brentford to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

The Blues have failed to win any of their last seven matches across all competitions, with caretaker manager Frank Lampard having overseen four consecutive defeats since taking charge of the club last month.

The Bees will undoubtedly provide a stern test for Chelsea, too, with Thomas Frank’s side having enjoyed a remarkable season so far.

This summer, Chelsea look certain to let a number of players leave in order to reduce the size of their squad and recoup some of the £500 million that they have spent on players in the past 12 months.

Now, though, it appears that the London side are also considering a sensational move for one of Europe’s most highly-regarded players.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea are one of two Premier League clubs that are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.

The Brazil international’s future in the French capital is uncertain, and the report claims that he could be sold this summer with PSG set to follow a new internal direction.

Neymar is a target for two Premier League clubs, including Chelsea

Neymar, 31, remains the most expensive player in history having joined PSG from Barcelona for a fee of £198 million back in 2017.

Since that move, the Brazilian has scored 118 goals and registered 77 assists in 173 matches across all competitions.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is said to have held meetings with PSG earlier this year to discuss Neymar, and The Blues could reignite their interest in the forward when the transfer window reopens this summer.

The former Santos star is contracted to PSG until the summer of 2025, but it appears increasingly likely that the upcoming transfer window may represent the player’s last chance to secure a big-money move away from Paris.
